Spooky Things To Do In Nashville (Year-Round!
1. Do A Spooky Escape Room

I recently went to the Trapped Escape Game in TN, with some friends!
You can find their website here!
A lot of their rooms have spooky vibes, so they are great during Halloween, but so fun to do any time of year as well!
We started off by doing the Mystery Manor (their newest room). We had so much fun, we decided to do another one right after – The Haunted Cabin – since they still had some availability open for right when we were done!
Huge shoutout to our host, Daniel, who got us all set up and checked in – and of course gave us all our clues (we needed a lot!! lol). He was so nice and so helpful throughout the whole process.
If you’ve never done an escape room before, the premise is that you get “locked” in a room.
Of course, every room is different and has a theme to it. There’s a storyline that the rooms are fully decorated in, so you really feel like you’re transported into whatever situation the room is based on.
Their current rooms are – Mystery Manor, Alcatraz, Asylum, and Haunted Cabin – but they frequently switch them up!
You have to find clues and solve puzzles that will lead you to keys and codes to unlock cabinets, open chests, or even open up an extra room.
This escape room is perfect for:
- Date nights that need an exciting twist
- Group outings with friends
- Anyone who loves a good scare and puzzle challenge
- Any group that needs a good team-building exercise
💡 Pro tip: Book your session early — especially around Halloween — and wear something comfortable that lets you move easily!
Another tip: Communicate!! There are so many clues to find and so many pieces of a bigger puzzle to put together. If you find something that looks like a hint, yell it to your friends so everyone knows. You never know what they may have found that connects!
2. Stay a Night in a Haunted Nashville Hotel
I’ve always thought it would be such a fun experience to stay the night in a haunted hotel! Recently, when I was on a ghost tour, we were able to take a tour of the Hermitage Hotel. Although I didn’t stay overnight, it was a cool experience to hear about the ghosts people have claimed to see over the years.
They are all also STUNNING hotels, so if you’re brave enough to make it through the night, you’re also going to be staying in some of the prettiest hotels Nashville has to offer.
Here are the top haunted hotels!
- Union Station Hotel — It used to be a train station; it’s rumored to still host a few lingering spirits. One of the main ones is Abigail – legend has it that she threw herself in front of a train while mourning the death of her husband, who died in WWII. Click Here to Book
- The Hermitage Hotel — A stunningly beautiful hotel. Most people report ghost activities as a lady in white, a spectral child, and a crying baby in room 912. Click Here to Book
- Thomas House Hotel (Red Boiling Springs) — Known as one of the most haunted hotels in Tennessee — perfect for those who want the real deal. Several TV shows like “Ghost Hunters” have filmed here!
🛎️ My favorite websites to book through are Booking.com and Expedia.com
3. Take a Ghost Tour Through Downtown Nashville
One of my favorite things to do in EVERY city is take a ghost tour. And Nashville has some incredible ones!
The best part is they usually mix a lot of history along with creepy tales from the city’s past!
- Murder in Music City – (Click here to book!)
- Nashville Ghost Tours (Click here to book!) – This is the one I most recently did!!
- Nashville Haunted Boos and Booze (a mix of drinks + ghost stories!) (Click Here to book!)
Here’s some video from the tour I took!
🎟️ TripAdvisor has links to several great ghost tours! You can check them out HERE
4. Visit the Lotz House in Franklin
Franklin is a little bit of a drive from Nashville – but if you have a car, you can be there in just about 30 minutes.
The Lotz House Museum is known as one of Tennessee’s most haunted historic locations. The home is near the site of the Battle of Franklin, which was one of the bloodiest fights of the Civil War — and many visitors claim to still feel the energy of those who lived (and died) there.
They also host guided ghost tours after dark, where you can explore the property by candlelight. If you love history with some paranormal on the side, this one is perfect for you!
You can book them HERE!
5. Grab a Drink and Dinner at a Spooky Restaurant
On my ghost tour, I learned some history about a couple of my favorite restaurants in Nashville!
If you’re looking for great cocktails and amazing food, these are both perfect and will add to the spooky vibes!
They both are on the pricier side, so they are great for special occasions, a fancy date night, or if you like to do a nice dinner night on vacation!
- Skull’s Rainbow Room — Skull’s is a prohibition-era style speakeasy. They have amazing cocktails and upscale food – from great steak options, to crawfish gnocchi, to New Zealand rack of lamb…there are so many great options.
The back story to Skull’s Rainbow Room and why it’s haunted: The original owner was a man named David “Skull” Schulman. He was well known in town not only for Skull’s, but also for walking his poodles, which often were dyed and wore rhinestone collars. (Elvis even sent him a poodle!). In 1998, he was unfortunately murdered, and one of his dogs was there to witness. Now people say they see him walking up and down Printer’s Alley (where Skull’s is located) along with his poodles.
- House of Cards — House of Cards is more than just good food – it’s an amazing experience. The whole restaurant is magic-themed, and it’s also a speakeasy-style. You’ll enter right next to the Johnny Cash Museum and walk through a beautiful stone staircase. It’s such a vibe! Then once you order, there are several tables with magicians – so you can see different magic shows as you wait for your food! Once you’re done, you’ll head to the big show, where you’ll see a full magic show as well. We seriously had the best time.
Keep in mind: There’s a dress code, make reservations, and there are no photos allowed! (But they have a photographer come around, and they do allow photos in an outdoor area out back.)

🥂 Tip: If you’re planning a date night or friend outing, combine one of these spots with the escape room for a full “Haunted Night Out in Nashville” experience.
6. Shop for Some Spooky Items
If you’re looking to do a little shopping, here are some places that sell some spooky items!
- Aroma G’s — A local favorite for crystals, candles, incense, and oils. They also offer psychic readings. When I went last time, there was someone who did birth chart readings, and it was great! You can’t make reservations, but it’s usually pretty easy to get in quickly. When I went, I really didn’t have to wait at all. Oh, and there is also a really cute garden center right next door that is gorgeous to walk through! It’s called JVI Secret Gardens!
- Cosmic Connections Nashville — They sell incense, jewelry, sage, and more! They also offer sound healing, energy sessions, and intuitive readings!
They’re perfect for browsing after brunch or picking up a unique souvenir.
7. Bonus: Spooky Day Trips from Nashville
If you’re up for a little bit of a drive, there are some pretty cool places you could easily do a day trip to!
- Bell Witch Cave (Adams, TN- about an hour outside of Nashville): There’s a good chance you’ve heard of the Bell Witch – or maybe even seen the movie. You can visit this cave and take a guided tour. I did it once, and it was such a cool experience!
- Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary (about 2 and a half hours outside of Nashville): A real, decommissioned prison turned into a haunted tour and whiskey distillery (yes, you can do both in one visit).
